2014.10.27 - ATTEND INTERSTELLAR PREMIERE FOR FREE

The Challenger Learning Center at Heartland Community College is going INTERSTELLAR with an advance screening of Paramount’s “Interstellar” Movie! On Tuesday, November 4th, at the Carmike Grand Prairie 18 IMAX in Peoria there will be a special showing of “Interstellar” before it hits theaters. Doors will open at 6:30pm. At 6:45pm there will be special remarks from the CLC staff, and at 7:00pm the movie will begin! Are you or someone you know (high school and above) interested in experiencing this exciting event with us? Reserve your seat by emailing Alicia.lage@heartland.edu. Seats will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to email right away!

2014.10.22 - GET YOUR BOARDING PASS FOR ORION

If only your name could collect frequent flyer miles! NASA is inviting the public to send their names on a microchip to destinations beyond low-Earth orbit, including Mars. The deadline for receiving a personal "boarding pass" on Orion's test flight closes Friday, Oct. 31. The public will have an opportunity to keep submitting names beyond Oct. 31 to be included on future test flights and future NASA missions to Mars. 2014.09.15 - CLC Selected As A SciGirls CONNECT Partner

The Challenger Learning Center at Heartland Community College has been selected to be a SciGirls CONNECT Partner from Twin Cities Public Television. The partnership will allow the CLC to participate in a SciGirls educator training workshop and utilize SciGirl curriculum for future programs and public outreach.
