Open House to Welcome Museum & Learning Center Personnel

 To introduce new executive staff, Prairie Aviation Museum will host a public Open House Monday, August 18, 2003 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Oberman Theatre at the Museum, Frontage Road, west entrance, Central Illinois Regional Airport, Bloomington.  Celebration refreshments will be served.

Museum president Norm Wingler, stated, “We invite everyone to meet Mr. Gene Pratt who has been appointed Executive Director and we will also introduce Flight Director Janet Moore and Assistant Flight Director Stacey Shrewsbury, both leading the Joseph F. Warner Challenger Learning Center of Central Illinois.” Remodeling work continues on the former terminal at Central Illinois Regional Airport for the installation of the Challenger Learning Center which will be dedicated on December 15, 2003. 

The Flight Directors are available for presentations to clubs, organizations, schools in the surrounding 18-county area and may be reached at the Learning Center’s temporary office located adjacent to the Museum in the Image Air hangar, open Monday through Friday 9 to 5 p.m., phone 309/661-1621. Museum hours are Sunday 12 to 4 p..m, and Tuesday through Saturday, 11 to 4 p.m. Call 309/663-7632 for tours and Speakers Bureau.
